Clinton profiles well-known celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Andre Agassi and Warren Buffett He also shares stories about others who are less well known, and who often contribute anonymously, such as Oseola McCarty, a retired cleaning lady in Mississippi who gave her life's savings to the University of Southern Mississippi for a scholarship fund. Beloved Clara, A True Story of Passion, Music & Tragedy
This is Lamont’s collection of thoughts on faith and grace. She defines grace as that extra bit of help when you think you are really doomed. “I experience Grace as a cool ribbon of fresh air when I feel spiritually claustrophobic… sometimes it is so smalla couple of seconds relief here, several extra inches there. Grace is not something I DO, or can chase down; but it is something I can receive, when I stop trying to be in charge,” Lamont says.

Meditation in a New York Minute: Meditation programs often range from the outstanding to the mediocre and this is in the first category. Mama Made the Difference Although Mother’s Day only happens once a year, this audio reminds us just how important mothers are in most people’s lives. Bishop Jakes shares personal stories about the experiences he shared with his mother along with the lessons and values she taught him, especially in the areas of life, love and longevity. He also includes biblical stories about mothers, along with testimonials from other prominent African-American figures about the importance of motherhood. Elizabeth Here is an interesting audio that chronicles the author’s various travel adventures to places such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Greece, Crete, Scotland, Turkey and sites along the way. She and her husband travel for extended periods of time and often rent a local apartment so they can blend in with the locals. Perhaps the defining feature of this audio is the colorful description of the people and scenery they encounter, along with the useful travel tips she offers. As a former professor, she provides an excellent historical detail and a keen observer's eye. Nailing It, They describe this audio as “like the car wreck that shut down the town or the time the puppeteers walked out of the Oddfellows' variety show, and the dark ones, primarily the death of his father. Reminiscent of Garrison Keillor in his folksiness, Dietz has a tone and delivery that are all his ownthough many of his expressions are taken, appropriately, from the voices of the community he's talking about.” It is hard to beat that description, so I won’t even try. 10 Days that Unexpectedly Changed America, This novel is set in Vancouver, and follows the life of 32-year-old Maggie, a radiation technologist, as she tries to discover the true nature of happiness. Maggie is fairly well-adjusted compared to her two sisters who are leading dysfunctional lives. Maggie's friend, Rebecca, who designs quizzes for women's magazines, tests Maggie with a quiz that supposedly measures expected life span. When they learn, according to the quiz, that Maggie might die in three months unless she discovers true happiness, Maggie takes the light-hearted results seriously and sets off on her mission. Meanwhile there are some twists to the plot as one of Maggie’s sisters moves to Italy, gets pregnant, flees back to Canada….. (you will have to listen to find out what happens next). Yes, Your Teen Is Crazy! The author, Michael Bradley, is a psychologist who argues that teenagers are mentally miss-adjusted since most advanced parts of their brains aren't completely developed until adolescence is nearly over. As a result, teens can appear unstable, dysfunctional and unpredictable, with temporarily impaired judgment and decision-making processes. Bradley discusses the prevalence of sex, drugs and violence that makes the teen's life even more unbalanced. He explains how parents do make a difference, by guiding their teens through these challenging years. He offers tips to parents, such as remaining calm even when teens behave outrageously. Here is the story of a homeless father in San Francisco, who raised a son and eventually went on to become a successful businessman. Never giving in to despair, Gardner moves from shelters to soup kitchens and eventually turns his life around. Part of the message is a story of a man who breaks his own family's cycle of men abandoning their children when times get tough. Here is a fun-filled audio from children's poet Shel Silverstein. Runny Babbit was a work in progress for more than 20 years. Listeners are introduced to Runny Babbit and his friends Toe Jurtle, Skertie Gunk, Goctor Doose, and Millie Woose, and are brought into the world of word reversal poems where pea soup is sea poup, Capture the Flag is Fapture the Clag, and snow boots are bow snoots. Each poem incorporates the same kind of creative wordplay. Kids will have fun listening while improving their rhyming skill (Ages 7 to 12). The Worry Cure: Seven Steps to Stop Worry from Stopping You The Worry Cure is an easy-to-understand self-help guide to overcoming anxiety. Earth Magic, Sacred Rituals for Connecting to Nature's Power, Well-known Wiccan and Pagan author Starhawk teaches rituals for connecting to and channeling the elemental forces of nature. She is author of ten books, including The Spiral Dance and Webs of Power. This audio details the skirmishes of the Whiskey Rebellion from 1791 to 1795 and the first attempt at an excise tax, by Secretary of Finance Alexander Hamilton, right after the American’s had rejected British taxation. This tax favored large distillers over small farmers. Eventually Washington used federal troops to stop the rebellion, but not before an underreported, chapter in American history had happened. The full title is: The Whiskey Rebellion: George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and the Frontier Rebels Who Challenged America's Newfound Sovereignty. Enjoying the Ride This autobiography is about Win Straube, who spent his teen years in Germany was before, during and after the war. of you may have heard part of this story described by Wayne Dyer in
his PBS special. As many of us remember, in 1994 more than one million
people were murdered in the Rwandan genocide. This is the story of how
Immaculee survived certain death, along with seven other women, by
hiding in a very small bathroom for more than three months. Immaculee
shares with us her struggle. She is now a member of the United Nations

Hidden Messages in Water This
classic audio by Dr. Masaru Emoto demonstrates that crystals formed in
frozen water often reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts
are directed toward them. The water that received loving words shows
brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns, while polluted
water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete,
asymmetrical patterns with dull colors. Hard
Rock Lovers Here
is one we recently received in the mail and have not had the chance to
listen to completely, but it looks interesting! The story has
Russ Tamblyn in the role of Alan, as he becomes involved with a rock
singer and pursues the long thought dead rock star, Shane with the aid
of a Puerto Rican born gangster played by George Chakiris. This is the
first teaming of Tamblyn and Chakiris since the two fought each other
under the freeway in " Copy This!: The founder of
Kinko's Copies combines business advise with personal
recollections in this candid description of his
entrepreneurial rise. He is proud of the fact that he
overcame the limits of dyslexia, and a bad temper to
develop a small California copy shop into a
$2-billion-a-year company. Orfalea also talks about the
trouble he got into in high school, along with his
unconventional attitude and mistrust of authority. The Four
Agreements: In The Four
Agreements shamanic teacher and healer Don Miguel Ruiz

when his patients changed their diets to include certain
foods that he has identified as the super foods. Character Is
Destiny: Arizona Senator John
McCain has composed 34 stories of individuals who have
demonstrated qualities such as honesty, loyalty,
perseverance, and determination. McCain describes the
willingness to stay true to one's conscience against all
challenges as a key to success. The heroes range from
historical figures such as Mahatma Gandhi (for respect);
Joan of Arc (for authenticity); Queen Elizabeth I (for confi-dence); along with relatively unknown people such
as Oseola McCarty, who gave the $150,000 that she saved
from a lifetime of being a maid to the University of
Southern Mississippi (for generosity). This audio
provides inspiring and practical examples of virtues from
many perspectives. Making a Good
Brain Great, Daniel Amen, M.D.,
one of the world's foremost authorities on the brain, has
developed this audio to describe to listeners how to care
for and enhance the performance of the brain. People
unknowingly endanger or injure their brains from stress,
lack of sleep and proper nutrients, too much caffeine and
alcohol, etc. Amen believes that when our brains work
right, we work right, and it is worth the effort to take
the proper care. Talk to the Hand: Lynne Truss describes
the lack of manners in society, in both a humorous and
shocked tone. She believes that the self-induced bubble
of being in a car or engaged in a cell phone conversation
make it easy for people to feel that they can get away by
being rude. Truss uses quotations from a variety of
sources, such as Evelyn Waugh, W.B. Yeats, Sociologist
Erving Goffman to reinforce her points. A Fractured Mind,
My Life With Multiple Personality Disorder Robert Oxnam was
outwardly a successful scholar and president of the Asia
Society. Meanwhile, he struggled with personality
disorder, resulting in self-doubt, multiple personality
and alcoholism. He eventually sought treatment, and
discovered he had 11 different personalities emerged,
(eventually reduced to three). This audio is a powerful
description of the dialogues among the fractured parts of
his mind, and his attempt to work through the problems. Sherlock Holmes
Theatre In this well-known remake of a classic, Professor Moriarity plots with potential blackmailers to have Holmes killed, resulting in suspense and intrigue, including Holmes falling in love, with a mystery woman. The audio offers a new and realistic take on the London detective story. The Hadassah
Covenant, Here is an audio
based on the life of biblical Queen Esther. In Tenney's
ancient Persia (now Iraq and Iran), the king is brutally
murdered, and Esther (Hadassah) wonders what her role
might be in continuing to further God's plan for her
people. She ends up helping her uncle Mordecai in
preparing Leah, a lovely young Jew, for her
"audition" night with the new king. In a
parallel contemporary story, the Israeli prime minister's
wife, Hadassah (a descendent of Leah), must delve into
the past to resolve a tragic standoff with terrorists who
threaten the lives of contemporary Jews living
anonymously in the Middle East. Edward R. Murrow
and the Birth of Broadcast Journalism, In the audio version
of this hit movie, NPR broadcaster Bob Edwards examines
the life of newsman Edward Murrow. This audio focuses
most of its attention on the clash between Murrow and
conservative Senator Joseph McCarthy, along with Morrow's
investigative TV show See It Now. This audio provides
much more background sketch of Murrow than the movie,
which casts Murrow as a formal and driven person. Stress Reduction
and Creative Meditations, Here is a great tape
to de-stress with. Allen's soothing voice blends with
background music to offer a guided relaxation routine on
the first track. Later, on the second track, affirmations

of the ideas on these tapes include: Discovering and
applying the three most powerful Laws in the Universe.
Attract your ideal partner. Increase prosperity in every
area of you life. And much more... The Last Harbinger
The Last Harbinger is
a satirical story of how Harbinger is sent on a mission
to a place called Moloch. Moloch is an absurdly brutal
world where the elite are encouraged to spend more on
unnecessary cosmetic surgery than on medicines for
children in poverty. It is a world rapidly destroying its
environment, and with very little compassion. The
Harbinger has the truth, but can truth alone save a world
in time? The Last Harbinger is inspired by creative
types, such as Allan Ginsberg, Thomas Merton, William
Blake, and Fyodor Dostoevsky. Tales from My
Table: Tudor's tales of food, cooking, and love range from the simple pleasures of fresh vegetables to metaphorical challenges of dealing with a distorted heart. Blues Be Gone Here is an interesting compilation of prose written with a simple story line that represents different levels of perception and humor. Music by Arthur Frick adds to the background intensity. Last Dance John Feinstein looks
at college basketball's Final Four, and what it means to
a school, a coach, and a player to be part of the
"March Madness." Included are the stories of
triumph and tragedy, along with the dramatic stories from
the people behind the scenes, such as the officials, the
scouts and even a ticket-scalper. Tim O'Brien, a New
York Times investigative reporter who has reported on
Trump's ups and downs, also looks at Trump's audacity,
occasional poor judgments in this audio. The star of The
Apprentice appears both arrogant and humble in his
complex and often contradictory day-to-day activities.
O'Brien shows us a man few people ever see. The Witches This Roald Dahl
classic tells the scary, funny and imaginative tale of a
seven-year-old boy who has a run-in with some real-life
witches! These real witches dress in ordinary clothes and
look very much like ordinary women. With the help of a
friend and his somewhat-magical grandmother, our hero
tries to expose the witches before they dispose of him.
Nothing can prepare him for the day he comes face to face
with The Grand High Witch herself! Recommended for ages

She explains that the real experience of death is far more fascinating and rewarding than often thought of by medical professionals, who think of death as simply the end of life. Amatuzio has encountered many situations that are scientifically inexplicable that seem to describe a place where the departed hang out after death, occasionally to reappear in some form.

A superb storyteller, Bodanis includes tales of romance, hard work, and fraud in the development of modern electrical applications. Bodanis taught at the University of Oxford for many years. My
